DITTO. There are numerous examples out there of good beginnings that go bad for whatever reason (ie. LADO, one of the first electric retract manufacturers. My first set were excellent, but then "things happened". Fortunately for later customers, the French stepped in and took over.)
As stated above, probably your only option is towrite it offto experience and find an established, reliable cutter.
