Wouldn't want to make things easy on ye I am with Robert on this one. Since the struts are not functional how about making a socket at the fuse end for the strut to slide into and a internal fitting at the wing end for the strut to slide over. When you remove the wing the struts will just slide out for transport and storage. With all the other mods I have seen you pull off this shouldn't be too much of a stretch.
