I'm sure you are correct on that, Ernie. I think there is a practical limit on the coil size though. IMO until an alternate technology is developed, to boost a low voltage source, say 4.8v to the tens of thousands of volts to provide spark to the spark plug requires a transformer (coil). The coils have gotten remarkably smaller, but there is IMO a physical limitation on how small they can be practically made.

It wouldn't surprise me though if one of the manufacturers comes up with a light weight .40 sized ignition gasser. That would be an attention getter.
