Down the road you might find you like this plane so much that you want to up grade the landing gear..You can get Robart Landing for it . I put Robart gear on mine and it was a huge improvement..It is expensive though,I think around $150.00...I can't rember exataly..I found the factory gear was a bit lite and I was forever bending mine...Its important with Cubs that the gear is straight because they like to ground loop if you arent careful..If the gear is straight and the wheels rolling free it helps ...I have been flying mine for 3 years and I really like it...I have 7 Cubs all together 2 1/5 scale 3 1/4 scale 2 1/3 scale They are not all flying though I have a 1/5 scale hanger 9 J3 Cub NIB And I and I am about 1/2 way through building BUSA 1/4 J3 Cub Plus I just got one of those new Hanger 9 PA18 1/4 scale Super Cubs for Christmas .. As you can see I am a bit Cub crazy ...The GP 1/5 Scale was my first and I think it is one of my favorites...Even though it is an ARF it dosent look like an ARF...It is also very sturdy...Make sure you use the struts and upgrade them...If you want I can take some pics of what I did to mine and you could do the same thing to yours...You need some 3/4'' and 1/2'' streamline tubeing and some 1/2'' bar alum. and a band saw.... and a drill press....
Great! Bikerbc maybe you can answer this:
Your H9 PA18 brings a scale landing gear. How is the quality? Horizon sells the replacement LG for your PA-18 for like 1/2 of the price of the Robart LG. I have a 1/4 Clipped wing Sig, and a 1/4 Scale Cub that need a LG upgrade...
