Default RE: trainer

The trouble with doing that EC is using an airplane that is inappropriate as a trainer even on a buddy cord is in every case the student will end up with holes in their airmanship and it will come back to bite them in butt later.

Yes virtually every newbie who shows up wants to use some completely inappropriate airplanes and sure I have agreed to some of that but also in most cases it takes that student a much longer time to reach a given level of skills than if he had used a normal progression starting with a good trainer.

Now the solution i have been pursueing for some time now is so simple and that means making the the dumpy trainer sexy once agine. Thats mean providing exciting things to do with those traners beyond just circuits (way beyond).

Now I have in the past conducted wingless trainer races just for traners which is very exciting and the fellow get so into it that you would think it was a nascar race.

Last year I ran our first full blown pylon race exclusively for Senior Kaydets or Lt 40's and I just scheduled by popular demand another for march. These are not beginner races and are conducted just like an AMA rulebook Q500 race four at a time and using the same matrix program with the only exception is a very short two pole course at 300 feet. This is the great equalizer as skill becomes the predominate factor not power.

Because of these activities there are something over 25 Kaydets in the club now and were are only around forty members. Even the the most experianced in the club are scrambling to acquire Kaydets.

Kaydets are also certainly the most kit bashed models ever, my four engine Quad Kaydet is only a mild example. I am scrambling to put two more together as we speak. One of those I will use in my atttempt late summer to fly across 26 miles of open ocean to Avelon bay, Catalina island.

So the solution is to make those dumpy trainers SEXY Yup its possible.
