Default RE: New Warbird

The H9 Bluenose mustang looks really nice but has had some issues with wing spar and retract design and functionality. Don't know if they have fully ironed out all of the wrinkles, so Ican't recommend it fully. I would also agree that the Top Flight P-47 would be good. DLE 20 sounds perfect. It is of good size and looks great.

If you want to go bigger and have the room for storage and transportation, I have an ESM Val that is an absolute sweetheart.. It has a huge forgiving wing and flies like a big 'ole trainer! Ihave a DLE 30 for power andone of the best things about it is NO RETRACTS. Ihaven't doneit yet on mine, but Ithink it needs some Robart oleo struts to help cushion all 17.25 lbs on less thanperfect landings. It would require a little creative modifying to mate with the wheel pants however.

The best advice I could give you, is try to resist a bunch of scale detail and extra weight until you become more comfortable flying warbirds. Lighter wingloading is what you are after.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
