Giles 202
Hi,
I have been flying one of this for almost 2 years now using a ST G90 and MA 14x6 and it hardly hovers the plane, but this is because my flying site is over 4000 ft high. This is an excelent aerobatic airplane but only if you stay in the recomended cg range and elevator travel.
A friend of mine had one with a saito .90 4 stroke up front but it wasn't even close to hover using a 14x6 prop.
Planeboy, you are wright about using .90 4 strokes at sea level but up here is a totally diferent story, i'm not really sure why this happens but in fact APC props won't work better than MA props at this altitudes so you can imagine why i'm using such a huge engine for this airplane.
It is very usual to see overpowered airplanes in my flying site, things like Goldbergs Shipmunks using .90 2 stroke engines, Cermark Pits using Saito 1.50, etc.
I have a 4 pounds wasp using an OS 46FX that can hover at 3/4 stick and climbs at full stick but at a slow pace, but when i fly this at 500 feet over sea level it will climb like a rocket. We lost a lot of power due the lower atmospheric pressure and less oxygen at this altitudes.
Good Luck
