For FAI, what would work best?

1/2 point deduction per tap then apply rounding?
Whole point deduction only?

If rounding, should it round up, down, to odd or to even?

I'm thinking 1/2 point taps and round to odd for the simple reason 9.5 should not round up to 10.
8.5 - 9.5 -> 9
6.5 - 7.5 -> 7
