In reference to your hinging question, for me I let the circumstance dictate which side I do first, however mosttimes I epoxy the contol side first. In some casesIhave evenepoxied both sides at once. Many are not comfortable doing both sides atonce , but with 30 minuteepoxy I never had an issue with time.

When epoxing the control side first, I lay the rudder/elevator flat on my work table with the hinge side on the tables edge soI can get the hinges intoposition by using a square to verify that the hingesare in proper alignment. As an example of letting the circumstance dictate, for my Ryan since the rudder/elevators are not flat I will not install the hinges on the table but rather to ensure proper alignment I will do it to the fin/ stab all at the same time.
