With bulk mailing rates less than .45 cents Hoss's math does not add up. I would rather go back to bashing the dog's or more appropriately their owners.

Frank
Sorry Frank, but you get the Dunce Cap for right now. Read the post. I stated I used the amount as stamped on AMA's envelope. It was $.45 or 45 Cents. My math does have its share of mistakes, however .45 X 100,000 equals 45,000 in my scratch plus both my small computers agree.

Now just last evening I received a phone call from my new District VIII AMA District Vice President. We discussed the situation. He was very much a part of the AMA
Protocol and blamed it on some changes in the AMA's Introductory Pilot Instructor program which had some small changes last year. He set out explaining the Intro Pilot Program and never listened to me when I tried to inject that I was one of the first IPs when the program was first instituted. [:-] I quickly found out no need to try to really discuss something with these guys.

His call was not a result of this post. It was because I sent a copy, however better phrased, to the AMA Pres. the AMA Ex. Director, and my Dist DVP.

And to RC Paul: Maybe so, but when I see such a waste, then as one who has been AMA since in the 1940s, have served in a number of AMA Activities including AMA D-VP, one Election by Write-In Vote, CD since 1963, Leader since 1964, worked a lot of AMA functions, Club Presidents and other officers, supported AMA in many areas, including serving at a number of NATs, always a member of 1 to 4 clubs, an AMA Life member but I donate to AMA each year far more than my dues, financed a large club's flying facility, (www.jetero.com) I simply feel it is duty to question what I see as a waste of those donations.
Take a look at the past several MA magazines. Many many members are donating beyond dues. Do they NOT have a right to have a say in what AMA does with those distributions?
While this past year I donated a considerable amount of $$ to certain needs. IMO those associations were mostly just partying up every penny and did NOTHING to provide for the needs those funds were so directed. Now they wonder why my faucet has been closed. I don't wish for that to happen to AMA.
AMA is our only hope to keep Aeromodeling facilities in being.
Holding on to the saddle knob may keep you on the horse but the REINS tell the horse which direction to take. GET ACTIVE!
