Zeeb,
Thanks for the clearification. Yes, My DX7 has been upgraded. What would be nice is wher in the transmitter we can read the software version and how to relate it to the functionality of theTX/RXs. You know as we get older we forget things -like did I upgrade or not :-)
Yeah well I understand what you're saying.... lol
Okay if your DX7 was upgraded, the only real change to what I said above is that it won't run AR6000 rx's anymore but it can run in DSMX mode. If you're mixing DSM2 and DSMX rx's, be careful with the satellite rx's as those will not interchange e.g. a DSMX main rx MUST have DSMX satellite/s and likewise a DSM2 main rx MUST have DSM2 satellite/s.
Your DX8 will tell you which version of the software it's running and whether it's DSM2 or DSMX, the DX7 with the upgrade I'm not sure about what they might have changed. On my JR 12X when it was upgraded they added a small "X" to the label and when it's turned on there is a small "X" which appears in the upper right corner of the display. You cannot select which mode it runs in nor will it tell you what it's using. The only way to tell is that when initially turned on, it will take 3 to 5 seconds for it to link up with a DSM2 rx. If the rx is DSMX then the tx and rx will link up almost instantly when you turn them on.
