RE: Capiche 50
the grain didn't effect the Bug tabs which as you can imagine for a thick symertrical section wern't the smallest, they were about 15mm wide from soft 1/16th balsa.
i do have some trim in, very noticable when looking at the root from the rear, then again i've not balanced it lenghtwise yet, as the side that was heavy is compensating for torque anyway i spose. i just didn't find the jigs the easiest thing in the world.. work great in the middle and tips, but it's all too easy to misaline later.. i ended up sheeting it by removing them and pushing the TE down flat on the bench, that way it should all be straight.. good thing theres no wash out. i find tabs also help to sheet as the wing is still stuck to the plan and the balsa moves, not the wing.
best for doing wash out was how my Outlaw is built, the LE and TE are WAY!!!!! over sized.. you cut them about 2" deep, then draw a line given on the plan... you then glue the ribs with the center points touching that line, one perfect washed out wing and it's in its own frame you can use either way up. the only downside is you have to be careful when sheeting, but it's the best i've ever used.
