Around 2010 I think, after the Detroit "Panty bomber" episode anyway - there was a bunch of explosive packed toner cartridges shipped from Yemen (or Saudi?) - some were intercepted in Europe, but I believe some made it onto a plane bound for Chicago that was stopped before it arrived. I'm sure wikipedia has it on file - it was a big deal at the time, and shipping times from the EU went thru the roof as a result of the extra security precautions.
