Default RE: Symmetrical Airfoil LE Shape

ORIGINAL: wellss

The purpose of sharpening the leading edge is to reduce straight line drag, but maximum lift will suffer

If you're playing around with airfoil shapes, it might be worthwhile to try a NACA 0015-64

I'm using VisualFoil, by Hanley Innovations to analyze, and it shows both higher maximum lift and lower drag
Try Javafoil and see what happens?
In most models especially aerobatic types, creating more lift means practically nothing. Models are extremely lightly loaded and they don't really much care about the wing creating another couple percent of lift. Maybe slope soaring sailplanes could use that to beter advantage
