umm don't remember doing this bit...
J2 is your centre jig support at the trailing edge. Locate it to line up with the two centre ribs R1, and slide a bit of scrap 1/16 sheet underneath it. This adjusts for the absence of wing sheeting at this stage. J3 can be used on the last tip rib to provide an accurate level for the centre and end ribs.
is that going to give me less dehideral? DOH! and CPLR said it needed more
BINGO!
Now cut and carefully glue in position the vertical grain 1/16 sheer webs to the front part of the spars, all the way along. It is important that the wing does not move during this operation, as this is the process of maintaining the straight jigged position we have set up on the bench.
i did this AFTER! the sheeting, as i've always done, leaving the wing open to warps..
totaly forgot this bit!
Using a plane and sanding block remove all excess material and shape wing to section as per plan. It is good practice to induce a blunter leading edge toward the tip, and a sharper one inboard – but we use the word “sharper” relatively – it should not be sharp.
all in all... mine still flys like a goodun
any news on the FF wing yet? not put pen to paper yet to work out the CofG/ spar location problem for my own yet..
