Wooden props have to be slightly compressed into the groves of the backplate or prop spacer to keep them from slipping and if overtightened in the process they can splinter in mid flight, or more frequently during starting. The modification you made to the tips of the prop will not cause any problem if they are balanced, but I am concerned from the looks of it that you may have already compressed the hub of that prop too much. This may be a problem when you install it on a plane and attempt to tighten it. Be carefull, if you hear any cracking before it gets tight enough not to slip, throw it away. Just my opinion.
