Default RE: New Griffin by Xtreme Composite

ORIGINAL: Jetstream

Read in another thread of yet another wing failure. Is this something of a problem with design or manufacturer? I was seriously interested in this plane.....
Making an educated guess, it's likely a mfg defect. Sounds like the failure modes are the same, failure at the end of the wingtube. I suspect there is a stress riser built in withinadequate distribution of the stress to the skins. The fix is elementary when the wing skins are in the mold, but more difficult to do once finished.

If there is room in the root rib, you guys may need to access the inside of the wing and add some carbon tubing starting within an inch or two of the wing tube end and ending several inches past the end. If there is nohole in the root rib, you may want to openone.....
