I had the tip on the snout problem too and I also liked the look of the gear so I also moved the gear forward ..I think I used the back holes in the gear to mount the front bolts in the plane and then drilled two new ones further forward and put two more blind nuts in .. I also had to epoxy in a 1/4" plywood anchor plate inside the plane as well ..It totally cured the problem..
