RE: Sig Ryan STA
Vincent -
First of all thank you for the time to document this build. Of all the aircraft I've admired the Ryan ST's and PT's have been my most appreciatied since I saw my first PT-22 back in the seventies. I bought a SIG Ryan in the box around 1985 but didn't start flying RC until about 5 years ago. Scale detail is my passion and I've taken notes from beginning to end on this thread with the intention of trying to apply as much as I can when I start my build.
As a side note, I bought a 1941 PT-21 in 1985 and restored it over a period of 3-1/2 years and flew to Hemet, CA in '90 for a huge Ryan reunion of former WWII USAAC instructors and cadets. Several ST's and PT's came in from all over the country and among the many great people I'd met, I was actually priviledged to meet T Claude Ryan's son and Grandson....what a cherished memory that entire event remains.
Meanwhile I'll continue to look forward to further completion of your ST and any flight reports. Your talent and skills are remarkable.
Thanks,
Dick
