Welcome to airplanes. There seem to be countless trainers on the market. I really haven't seen any bad ones and serve as a club trainer and AMA Intro pilot. The 60 size trainers seem to work better as they allow more thinking time and are easier to see. Your car experience will help with the control reverses however you will now have more controls to think about. One of my favorites is the Sig LT-40 (which does fly very well on a 40) but is the size of most 60 size craft. You will need to get some instruction with the planes.
