Hello, I was wondering what voltage battery are you using? I read that someone put a 4.8v with his Skywriter and it works....... Sullivan says to use a 6v to 12v battery with it! Confussed! Thanks!
At first I tried a 4.8v 600mah pack & it worked, this was when I was setting it up in the plane & not pumping oil. The pump was humming real good so I did'nt think I'd have any problems. When I completed the installation I tried pumping oil & all I got was a low buzzing sound. I thought maybe my battery was a little low so I charged it overnight. Next day same low buzzing sound & no oil! I was stumped and getting ready to yank everything apart but then I tried a 9.6v pack and HOLY SMOKE we've got oil. I then put the 4.8v back on & it pumped for about a minute before the voltage dropped & I got the same low buzzing sound & no oil. I'm now using a 6v 1400mah pack which works perfect for my setup.
