as easy as it is to have someone else set it up, your learning/understanding will be greatly enhanced if you force yourself to do the majority of the research/set up and have an experienced guy give it a final going over before flight.

more importantly, if you are a beginner, the decision between mode 1 and mode 2 will most likely reflect what the other guy is flying if you want there help when flying. (since there is only one other guy in your area)
