I purchased a caliber 30 and am having second thoughts due to the fact that the only person in my area that I am aware of flys Raptors. I have yet to ask him if he will help me but I figure if I fly a raptor my chances are better. Question: If a person flys one type can they help with set up of some other brand? Do they all function about the same?
Thanks

One major differance between the two is the Caliber can be set up CCPM or mechanical mixing, while the Raptor is strictly mechanical. That may be the only snag with him helping you if you set it up CCPM, but it will be a very minor one....He should be able to help you no matter what you do.

this forum will help, specifically the kyosho threads.
as easy as it is to have someone else set it up, your learning/understanding will be greatly enhanced if you force yourself to do the majority of the research/set up and have an experienced guy give it a final going over before flight.
more importantly, if you are a beginner, the decision between mode 1 and mode 2 will most likely reflect what the other guy is flying if you want there help when flying. (since there is only one other guy in your area)
