Default RE: Hangar 9 Meridian 10cc build thread with Evolution 10cc gasser engine

ORIGINAL: chrispol

Well Just finished my build, I was too lazy to try and find a muffler extension gor the evolution gasser and had a macs muffler from an os55, tried it lousy response drilled it out a bit and it runs great.

2 Issues right wing bolt alignment is off going to stretch the hole and epoxy on a washer about a 3mm gab between wing and fuse...

The other issue is the balance point of about 90mm .. I would need to add 345oz of weight in the nose for it to balance ... even with 2 7.4v lipo flat packs in front saddling the tank.

Any ideas? that seems like an excessive amount of weight.

Thanks
If you are using a balancer do you have the plane inverted?
Mine is assembled as recommended and the only thing I did was also fuel-proof the tank area with a coat of thinned expoy. With the batteries in the recommended spots the balance threw me off a bit as I thought it to be tail heavy so I put the receiver battery under the tank with the ignition&battery. It flew fine but it was nose heavy. Moved the receiver battery back to it's recommedned location and it's still a bit nose heavy (flying inverted ,hands off) so I could move it back a little more.
Take the plane up with a full tank of fuel and trim it for level flight around 2/3 throttle. Then go inverted and level and let go of the sticks. If the plane falls it's nose heavy and if it rises it's tail heavy.
