Mine was purchased from Tower about a month ago and they still had not fixed the gear/ferring issue. My gues is that there was allot of them made the same way and they still have some in stock. I would take the gear out and hold them to the fuse and see how far from the fuse side the fiberglass portion of the gear is from the fuse side. If it is over 1/4" the ferrings will not work.
