The landing gear mains are B@D's, the nose wheel asm. is spring air.
Clearance is solved by mounting the fuel tank further back thru the top of the fuse. with a hatch beneath the canopy. we did the same thing with the SIG kobra a smaller plane....which was absolutely fast and awesome in the air but no muffler, too nose heavy. it would roll real fast with the gear up. look for the thread on the kouger in this forum.
Both are real clean and impressive sights with the gear tucked just beautiful!
