RE: Sig King Kobra build
For the Kougar or King Kobra I would consider a built up balsa 'chin block' to simplify thinning the bottom inside of the block. I might also consider making the bottom of the chin a screw on hatch. Battery location would influence the hatch decision.
You have probably already considered single or dual aileron servos. I have both single aileron servos on some Kougars and dual aileron servos on others and cannot distinguish any difference. All of my aileron servos are inside the fuselage but some prefer aileron servos in the wing. Flaps would have been a nice addition and could have been driven from the torque rods using a single servo. If I knew how I would attempt to retrofit a split flap on about 20% of each aileron.
After more thought I would definitely face both sides of the former in which the wing dowels fit.
