In light of all the differences surfacing between the variants, I'm giving up on the E conversion. Even if I really wanted to take it all on, I'm not looking for a two year build here. I love the Panzer Grey overpainted Sand Yellow, but not that much.

I'd be much better off with some zim and Thoma Schurzen. Besides, my son wants to build a Norman village in our backyard, this would be more at home than as DAK. So it's time to find some brass or copper mesh.
