For me this is a weak point of these extension spring designs, keeping the strut straight during retraction. If you figure something out I would love to hear it.

Some of the newer designs that have a compression spring are nice, also I think Tam has a strut that has a different angle on the spring, providing more spring force to hold the strut in full extension.
