There is no difference in thickness on sides of the roof. What I did was scree the filler from original rear end to Tiara with straight edge (scrap and filler are also in area ahead of Tiara) , sanding to wood on both sides when necessary between coats. The whiteish areas you see on edges are original wood. Roof is straight end to end (fore to aft) only raising arch from front tapering to original back. Came out rather nicely. Looks as though I hadn't messed it up from the beginning.
Oy this boat! It is taking me over. It seems like it is all I think about. Great fun though. AND I have a Boothbay Lobster Boat whispering to me as well. Those plans have been my nighttime reading and I am still such a rookie.
