For all you inquiring minds here is a picture of the custom main gear, work in progress, for my Ryan SC-W. The gear has a custom built Oleo type strut for smooth landings. The mount is not pictured but is machine from aluminum with the socket for the strut drilled to allow for the wing incidence as well as the 17 degree forward rake of the gear. A fillet will be added the the area between the pant and moving strut cover. The wheel is a Williams Brothers wheel and the pant is from Fiberglass Specialties. The oleo strut, mount, and strut cover are from Lee Robinson from Robinaire. I have added a photo of the full size plane for comparison.
