I've done a 5200mah NiMh at 5amps(max the charger I have for NiMh's can do) and it charged fine.
Only issue is it would false peak(report it as fully charged) a lot which a slower charge rate would not cause as much. I had to hit the charge cycle back on a few times to get it charged when going at full blast.
