First of all, I love my DP Extra. I waited a LONG time to get it (first run). But it is not the only great flying plane out there. There are several coming on the market which are looking very good. The GP Extra really looks nice and we all know what great service GP offers. World Models has one that they displayed at Toledo. It will be available in three different schemes.

Bottom line - If you want a DP Extra, go through a dealer like Chief's. If you just want something similar, I would look really hard at the GP and World Models versions.

Also, you mentioned that you ordered a carbon fiber wing tube. If you havn't ordered it yet, I would hold off. The weight is not that big of a deal. I would go with the Carbon Fiber landing gear instead. The stock landing gear is made for a 11-12 lbs model and is weak under 15-16lbs.
