The new Extra 330S shares much of the same layout as the original Extra 330L, except it has a single place canopy. The construction however is very different. The new extra has been revised and is built much in the same way as the 1/3 scale cap and the sukhoi. The wings are much lighter on the new extra, and the fuse is lighter and also braced better along the sides to prevent the fuse side from pushing in when installing the wings etc. Overall the new extra has many improvements over the original extra.
