The trophies have been ordered, the field is in excellent shape, and the meals have been planned. Chicken Spaghetti for Friday night, and the shrimp stew with a piece of fried catfish for Saturday night. We almost have the final arrangements made for a band for the friday night banquet. It looks like we will have a big sportsman class this year as we have an additional 4 local members who have been practicing and plan on entering. The Friday night and Saturday night social events are as big a part of our contest as the flying, so plan on bringing the family and enjoying some true Cajun hospitality. The RIce Festival is the same weekend, with parades, amusements, bands, and food, so there is plenty for the family to do while you compete. Easy to get to and just in town from the flying field. Be sure to make your hotel reservations early. Field will be reday to go Thursday evening and open for practice Friday Oct 18th.
While at the Nationals in Muncie, I had the pleasure of speaking to several of the guy's from District 3 that attended the Cajun Nats last year. They said they would be coming back this year in force. Us D6 pilots need to step up, those D3 guy's took home a bunch of trophies last year. As the Cajun Nats is usually one of the larger contest in pilot entries in the area, the competition is intense, and you diffinently get to fly against some of the top competitors in the South.
Come pass a good time with us. Hope to see you there.
