If you are learning 3D and hovering,etc get a profile (only my opinion), they are so much easier to repair when you try to push the laws of physics too far.
Build it quick, light and dont make it too pretty, that way you wont be worrying about damaging it. It really depends if you are flying the thing to develop you skills, or to have something that looks good. My opinion, forget the looks, and go for practicallity, then once you are competent in "real world 3D", get a nice sleek thin winged plane, such as the C50.
