The multinational thing is going well and gives some employment but they are on tax breaks and the real money involved is not in our economy.
The domestic scene is not good here at all - just about at the bottom and likely to bounce along there for quite some time to come.
However nobody died.

The only difference that I can see between us and Greece is that we quickly realised that the party was over and we swallowed the hangover pill straight away - the hangover just gets worse otherwise.

Retro eyesight is often 20-20....Greece was the playground for soooo many Europeans for a very long time. As a young boy I remember all the tourists, all seasons, continuously. On the Drac standard, it was a rather inexpensive vacation for the rest of Europe. But with their entry in the EU, and the Euro standard, all that changed. Throw in the 2004 Olympics which put Athens and the rest of Greece into heavy hoc (very few attended that Olympic Game), and it snow balled from there.
