First the Hog Bipe is not a 3D airplane and that is the bottom line. It will never do the prop hanging type of stuff if that is what you mean by middling 3d, the control surfaces are far to small for that and the structural density is to high to acheve the power to weight ratios to do that type of flying. It is a superb flying airplane and fully capable of conventional types of aerobatics. The .65LA will fly the airplane in a workman like manner if not spectacular.
Be aware before making quick decisions about converting airplanes to electrtric. That can get increditably expensive very rapidly when wanting to convert just any old airplane to electric (remember that high structural density thing). These kinds of conversions are seldom very successful in terms of what the owner/flyer really wanted.
