The first one I broke in right after I received it in February. I did it on the ground (didn't want to trudge through snow to retrieve a possible dead-stick) and carefully monitored the engine temps as I went along. Some say it may not get hot enough in the air on a freezing cold day to properly break-in......I'm not so sure about that.
