RE: Phenom or Aries ????
I may be a little biased on this post so take it for what its worth.
I like my Aries for many reasons. The first time I saw just the plug I knew its what I wanted before the mold was even made. Very nice lines and easy to look at. Now as for as the flying... that depends a lot on what one wants out of a competition airplane. Like how it presents (Aries does this nicely) how it setsup and is it capable of some of the manuvers required in todays schedules. The plane flies very good at slow speeds. As a matter of fact I had to learn throttle managment all over after flying a Prophecy for 2 yrs. With the right prop/pipe combo downlines are controled nicely. Rolls very well, presents well, is tolerante of c.g. changes, lands very good. Knife edges well and will even k.e. loop well. Currently has an O.S. 1.40 and powers it nicely. A mintor 1.70 is going in after the last contest this weekend.
An Aries was just purchased at the last contest in Dallas for the prime purpose of it being setup for electric powered flight. Same setup as Jason used in the World Championships.
Lance and Gray will help in about any way possible. Made in the good ole US of A.
Smooth Flying
