I am thrilled to announce that I will be Co-CD for this event! This will be the second annual
Haverstraw Pattern Challenge located in Haverstraw, NY (30 miles north of NYC). We will be having a one day pattern contest on Saturday, May 17th.
One of the main goals of this contest is to recruit any pilots that are interested in flying pattern and having lots of fun! Since we want to encourage anyone interested in participating, any AMA legal airplane will be allowed to compete in Sportsman. I will be out at the flying field on Thursday and Friday to assist with setting up airplanes and coaching those who are interested.
The HVRCC flying field has a well-maintained grass runway (600 x 80) that is in pristine condition. Overlooking the Hudson River, this flying field is a great place to fly and take in the beautiful scenery.
Details of the Contest:
* Field will be open for practice Thursday and Friday from sunrise to sunset. We will be available all day Thursday and Friday for those that need assistance.
* Pilot registration will begin on Saturday, May 17th at 9:00 a.m.
* Registration fee will be $20 which includes pizza for lunch.
* Donuts and coffee will be provided for breakfast.
* Four rounds will be flown for each class (Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters, FAI).
* FAI wil fly 2 rounds of P and 2 rounds of F (F is optional).
* Sportsman pilots are allowed to fly any AMA legal airplane.
* Awards will be given from 1st place to 3rd place for all classes.
