Paul, on the other side of the horn do you just have the head of the bolt countersunk into the top of the surface? sullivan instructions say to drill a 1/2" hole and insert a dowel but the surfaces already have a ply plate in them WB_1
I used tapered head Phillips bolts with countersunk washers to spread the load over the ply plates. No dowels. At least that's what I can remember. I sold the plane over a year ago so can't really check.
