Exclamation Seagull Ultimate 90 problem

Hi Everyone:

I recently purchased and build this plane from horizon hobby.

I have re-enforced the front of the plane with 30 min epoxy and fiberglass since I have a Saito 1.50 4stroke engine in the nose [which is all the way in the front of the engine mount]

It's fully build and now when I go to balance it. I've encountered a serious problem!

The manual says that the plane should balance out using the center rib of the upper wing the CG should be between [12-15cm] or 1/2 inch.

Using this range I got to put 3pounds and 2 ounces in the engine mount to get it to balance out straight. And add to that weight the 3600 mah Hydrimax battery I have in the firewall.

And I'm using lead ballast weights [used in fishing] to achieve that amount to just balance the plane out.. [ Before I melt it to size]

I called horizon a few minutes ago and after being on the phone with the representative, which he told me I would just have to add weight till it balanced out.. He said he would be e-mailing seagull to see if they had another idea or to verify that the CG is the right one??

I ask for help guys to anyone that has flown this plane or has it..
  1. Did you have to add so much extra weight to the plane?
  2. Did you use the suggested CG?

I've included the pics of the plane and also the container showing all the weight to melt to put in the plane. [ in the engine mount]
