Default Failsafe message on K-100

On the maiden flight of my Turbinator it got too slow on approach and stalled about 30 foot off the deck. The person doing the maiden for me immediately shut the turbine down, as it pancaked in into some tall grass at the end of the runway. I didn't have my GSU on me when we got to the plane, and in the panic of the incident, instead of carrying the plane back to the pitts with the rx still on, I shut off the rx before the walk of shame.
When I plugged the GSU into the ECU, it said the last shut down was a "failsafe" at 388C, 56000 RPM, Pw116
Is it showing a "failsafe" message because I shut off the receiver before it competed the cool-down cycle or did the turbine shut down causing the situation in the first place? The pilot and I thought we heard the turbine running the whole time, so this is kind of confusing me.

Thanks
Gary
