Default Found A Great Plane At A Thrift Store..Need Engine Recommendation Please!

Hi, folks!

New guy here!

Let me preface by saying it's been a LOOOONGGG time since I had my last RC plane but I used to fly quite a bit and did real well. That being said, it's been 30+ years since I touched a stick and I know a lot has changed since then.
I was thrifting over the weekend and stumbled on an NOS and complete with all accessories, an old Jayhawk Flitecraft Cardinal ARF. It was from 1987 and had all receipts in the box from Tower Hobbies! I was fixing to put this together and mess with it. Granted, it is not the best ARF but hey, for the price I could not pass it up. It is a top wing plane with a span of about 60". It has ailerons, rudder and flaps as well as a steerable front wheel (tripod setup). It is a PVC fuse with foamy and coated parts. Pretty decent build (for what it is) and looks to be stable to fly. I was thinking of powering this with a SuperTigre GS-45 and maybe a 10-6 prop. I am going to scour the net for a good 4-channel Futaba radio (2.4Ghz) and some servos. This plane is set up for any config. I can think of so I am thinking 4 servos for the ailerons, flaps, rudder & front wheel and throttle.
I am thinking ahead if I want to get another plane down the road so I was looking at the SuperTigre because of the build (ABC w/crank ball bearings), adaptability and it's "spirit".

Thanx in advance for your advice!

Bud
