Should we ban Diesel fuel
HI all, this was going to get attention sooner or later.
The problem that is appearing now, that diesel fuel is distroying asphalt surfaces.
Unlike Jet-A and Kero fuels that only stain the asphalt. Diesel fuel, when spilt on asphalt, will crumple and only be repaired by removeing a section .
Overflow tanks are great, but not always used.
Here is one man looking for help.
I did a no-no. I worked on my return line in the condominium complex parking lot without a catch basin not realizing what I was getting into. Needless to say a bit of
diesel
got on the asphalt of the parking lot.
Not my parking lot.
I tried to "cover" the area with dirt to soak up the diesel, but it has already softened up the asphalt.
Of course the local rug rat next door found a stick and started really making a hole in the asphalt which I covered back twice. I know it is a matter of time before someone chews my asphalt for doing such a stupid thing (not that I don't deserve it).
Is there a way to fix asphalt that has been damaged by diesel?
I figured I am not the first one who has done this. Thought someone might know the "secret" of asphalt repair.
