I haven't been in this too long myself, but I've definitely learned that hey, it's a hobby, you HAVE to work on this stuff. I think it's cool that you want to learn about gearboxes. I did this three part video when I stripped a gearbox and I was thinking about posting it under a separate thread (one of those Mod Squad lunacies I do) but it's NOT my best work. If you want to watch them and see if they answer any questions that would be cool, and even cooler would be If you could give me your opinion. Were they helpful or did I just come off looking like a pretentious gomer? If you watch them here's a couple things that got left out of the video:

The tank is an Imex full metal Tiger I late in IR. The calipers are just $9.99 at Harbor Freight (with the coupon) and I know at first I say it will be two parts but I guess I'm a long-winded SOB.

Also, I hear guys on here talking about breaking in a gearbox. Have you learned anything about that? I haven't, but it sounds interesting so any info you can share would be cool.
