Thick wings abosorb more power? That's a new principal.

I go with Kelly Johnson with aircraft like the F-104 and thinner equals faster. The full-size jet had wings just over 4" thick and was a jet engine with a pilot accomidation squeezed in.

Thicker wings give better speed envelope, lower landing speed and, depending on the wingspan, better aerobatic traits. They also have more drag and can make for smoother maneuvers if you work the throttle for up lines vs. down lines.

But a very thin wing can handle a lot of power. It just goes faster!
