Bob you are correct with gen 1 ecu. However, he has gen 2 ecu. With single channel operation it does the calibration on its own. There are two leads that control throttle and engine control. Be very careful with the labeling. Plug the throttle lead into throttle channel. The other, usually marked with a round of tape is for second channel engine control. I leave this one unplugged and the ecu operates on a single channel. When you power up it goes through the calibration and you get start clearance. Run the trim up and then then the throttle. Engine starts. After started drops to idle move throttle stick to down position. Then you have control. Go fly.
