Not difficult at all.
Done it many times.
We also include an additional step to ensure the finished ring is perfectly round and suited to the bore.
The reason we do this is, small engines are difficult to start and run properly if one has compression leaks, either in the rings or the valves.
Really, it's just a process that sorts the men from the boys so to speak.
